Growth Was Never About You. That's Exactly Why It Matters.

On revenue, reach, and the quiet guilt some leaders feel for wanting more of both.

At your level, there's a specific kind of tension that rarely gets spoken about out loud: wanting your business to grow further while also wondering if wanting that makes you less mission-driven than you started out being. As if ambition and calling can only occupy the same space for so long before one has to give way to the other.

We want to offer a different frame, because we don't think that tension reflects reality. We think it reflects an incomplete story about what growth is actually for.

Revenue Was Never the Point. Reach Was.

Here's what we've noticed in the leaders we admire most, including the one we suspect you are: the number was never really the goal. The number is simply what capacity looks like on a balance sheet. More revenue means more team, more systems, more room — which means more women served, more lives touched by work you've already proven changes them.

A business as ministry isn't a business that avoids growth to stay "pure." It's a business that grows specifically so the ministry can reach further than one woman's hours in a day would ever allow alone.

The Guilt That Doesn't Actually Belong to You

If you've ever felt a flicker of guilt about wanting more — more clients, more revenue, more scale — we'd gently suggest that guilt was never actually yours to carry. It belongs to a narrower theology than the one you actually live by, one that quietly implies ambition and faithfulness can't coexist.

But you already know they can. You've built something that serves real women with real transformation, at a scale that requires real infrastructure to sustain. That infrastructure isn't in competition with your calling. It's the vehicle carrying it.

What's Actually Blocking the Growth You Want

Here's where this connects back to something we've written about before: for many leaders at your stage, the thing standing between current capacity and the next level of reach isn't strategy, or even offer design. It's a brand and platform that hasn't caught up to what you're actually capable of delivering now. A mismatched brand doesn't just look outdated — it quietly caps how far your ministry can extend, because it under-communicates what you're actually capable of at scale.

Getting unblocked, in that sense, isn't a vanity project. It's removing the one piece of infrastructure standing between you and the next several hundred — or several thousand — women you're meant to reach.

Stewarding Growth Well

We think stewarding growth well looks like this: pursuing more capacity without apologizing for wanting it, building the infrastructure that can actually hold it, and staying anchored to the reason you started — which was never the number itself, but everyone that number represents.

If your growth has felt tangled up with guilt you can't quite locate the source of, we'd offer this: the guilt isn't a signal to shrink. It's a signal that no one's clearly named what the growth is actually for.
